Sex Workers will not be broken by the inefficiency of the NYC Department of Health. With the health and lives of Sex Workers, there is no compromise.

The response from Sarah L. Braunstein, PhD, MPH, Assistant Commissioner of the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, is unacceptable. By admitting the shortages yet continuing to limit distribution to only 300 condoms per month, the Department is abandoning our communities and putting lives at risk.
Â
This is not simply bureaucracy. This is structural violence against TransGNB people, Sex Workers, and LGBTQI+ communities in New York City. Condoms are not optional they are lifesaving tools.
Â
We refuse to be silenced. We refuse to accept neglect.
Â
We demand:
An immediate plan with clear dates to restore condom and lubricant distribution.
Full transparency and accountability to ensure this never happens again.
Recognition that denying safer sex products endangers lives and violates our rights.
